Sarah Nelson is a picture book author and poet. Her stories and poems explore a variety of themes, but Sarah especially loves writing about nature, the little (oh, so real) dramas of childhood, and inspiring, lesser-known moments in history. Whether playful or soulful, poetry or prose, Sarah strives for humor, a sense of wonder, and that musical read-aloud-ability that makes a great picture book sing. Sarah’s first several books are available now, with more titles following soon.
When Sarah is not writing, she teaches English to adult immigrants and feels lucky to have some of the very nicest students in the world. Sarah loves reading, researching, and learning new things, but also enjoys sharing time with friends and family and taking long rambling walks with her husband in the parks around their Minnesota home. In fact, she gets some of her best story ideas while outside rambling. Read more.
